The group Dirty Dozen or D-12 originated in Detroit, Michigan. The idea for D-12 was by Bugz who was a friend of Eminem. They were driving back from New York and Proof mentioned that he wanted to start a concept named 'The Dirty Dozen'. They all agreed they would have alter ego's too. Bizarre also remembers having the guys over and Eminem showing the crew his tattoo of 'Slim Shady' but everyone was clueless about it. Eminem then explained that 'Slim Shady' was his alter-ego.
The D-12 consists of six members: Eminem, Proof, Kon Artis, Kuniva, Bizarre, and Swift. The reason they are called D-12 is because each alter-ego counts as one other member of the group. D-12 also lost their founder, Bugz, last year for spraying water in a girl's face and then two men shot him twice in the face and then ran him over.
After Eminem released his first LP, Infinite, D-12 started recording songs in Em's basement. D-12 made their first album, 'The Underground EP', which was never released (They were currently with Re-AL Entertainment. D-12 is now currently signed by Shady Records and Interscope Records and are about to release their next album, sometime in spring 2001. Watch out for their first single off the album, Purple Pills, hitting you soon. Anyone who has heard D-12 knows they have a different style to other rap groups and are just plain sick
